A day in Córdoba, Spain

I went for a daytrip to Córdoba from Sevilla, it is a beautiful town. I went with the train, it was about 48 minutes and 35 euros for a round trip.

Here is what I saw and did in Córdoba 🙂

Alcázar de los reyes cristianos

The castle of Córdoba served for both as a fortress and palace. It had many different functions over the years such as headquarters of the Inquisition or as a prison in the first half of the 20th century. Here they have a beautiful garden, so wander around and enjoy the views.

A ticket is 5 euros, opening hours are: everyday from 08:45 to 15:15. (on Fridays and Sundays they are closed).

Cathedral of Córdoba

The cathedral of Cordoba is a World Heritage site since 1984. The Basilica was for a while shared by Christians and Muslims, later on the Muslims took the whole site. The cathedral has two areas: the courtyard and the area inside where you can find the beautiful red and white arches.

A ticket is 13 euros, and opening hours are: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 19:00.

Roman bridge

This bridge is originally built by the Romans in the 1st century BC across the Gaudalquivir river. In 1984 the bridge is declared as a World Heritage site. Admire the view over the river.

Wander around

Cordoba is a beautiful town, with lots of picturesque streets. The best way to discover the town itself is to wander around. Enjoy the beautiful streets with small cafes, restaurants and boutiques.
