Girona is a town close to Barcelona, in the province Catalunya. you can easily go with the train. There is a lot to see and do so you can either stay for a few days or do a daytrip.
I went for a day to Girona, here is what I did.
With the train
You can take the train from Barcelona Sants to Girona, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes and a single ticket is around 11 euros. The train station in Girona is right outside the city center.
Catedral de Girona
Right in the old part of the city is the Cathedral of Girona, it is really nice to see from the outside but if you want to enter the cathedral it is 7.50 euros.
Admire the views of the river
Girona is most known because of the beautiful views on the bridges of the river. Walk around and enjoy the colorful houses.
Roman wall of Girona
Walk around the city wall, here you have beautiful views of Girona. The wall has 4 access points and is free to enter.
Iglesia de San Martin
This church is located in a beautiful street, around it are cozy restaurants and stairs that leads toward the church.
Wander around in the old town
Girona has a beautiful old part of the city, filled with picturesque streets, restaurants and small boutiques. Get lost and enjoy this part of Girona.
