Things to do in Barcelona, Summer edition

Summer in Barcelona is an amazing time to explore the city, here are a few things you can do 🙂

Explore Parc de la Ciutadella

Parc de la Ciutadella is located in the old part of Barcelona, it is a big park with amazing views. When you have seen the whole park, you can put a blanket somewhere and enjoy the weather 🙂 tip: close to this park you can find the Arc de Triomf.

Playa Barceloneta

Barcelona has it’s own beach, although it can be crowded I do think you should at least see this beach ones before you leave Barcelona. Besides laying on the beach, there are restaurants and cafes and a beautiful boulevard to walk with views of the beach and sea. If you are more of an adventurous person you can also get lessons in paddle surfing or play volleyball.

Park Güell

Park Güell is a park designed by the famous Antoni Gaudi, it has amazing views over Barcelona and you can walk around a lot. Make sure to bring water, cause you’ll need it. A general ticket is 10 euros and the park is open everyday from 09:30 to 19:30. Keep in mind that you can purchase the tickets till 17:30 because of the closing time and it is best to buy the tickets online on their website so you don’t have to wait in line.

Check Getyourguide for tickets to the park.

Wander around the city

Barcelona is an beautiful city with lots of amazing neighborhoods, my favorite neighborhoods to walk around are: El Born, Barrio Gotico, Eixample and Gracia. Try to enjoy the weather by walking around and taking the beautiful sites and architecture of Barcelona in. Also don’t forget to buy some ice cream on the way to cool down 🙂

For the ones that like to make pictures this post about the best streets in Barcelona is for you.

Watch the sunset

Barcelona has a lot of amazing viewpoints/places to watch the sunset. However my favorite is Parque del Guinardó. It is a park next to the Bunkers del Carmel witch is also an amazing spot to watch the sunset, but it can be crowded that’s why I prefer this park.

Other places where you can watch the sunset are: museum MNAC, Carrer de Molist, El Xalet de Montjuic and Montjuic park.

Escape the hot weather

To escape the heat for a bit, Barcelona has a lot of indoor things as well. You can go to one of the museums like: Banksy, Picasso museum, moco or MNAC. But another fun thing to do is Ceramic painting. Especially if you are with friends.
