Spain gets around 3000 sunlight per year, which is a lot. If you compare it with for example The Netherlands it is only around 1568 hours per year. So in Barcelona most of the year the sun is shining. However sometimes you just don’t have that much luck with the weather. But don’t let it ruin your trip, you can still see and enjoy a lot in Barcelona on a rainy day. Use this time to see all the indoor places on your list.
Here you have some tips on what to see and do on a rainy day in Barcelona:
Casa Batlló
Casa Battló is one of Gaudi’s famous work, it is located on Paseo de Gracia. The building was built in 1877 by Emilio Sala Cortés, one of Gaudi’s architecture professors. And later in 1903 it was purchased by Mr Josep Batlló y Casanovas, who put Gaudí in charge of the project and fully reformed the building between 1904 and 1906. It is a beautiful house, and they have a rooftop with a view of Barcelona. tickets are from 29 euros.

Casa Mila
Casa Mila is also a building designed by Antoni Gaudi. La Pedrera or Casa Mila was Gaudi’s last work of civic architecture. The name Casa Mila comes from the Mila family, who lived in this building. Tickets are from 28 euros.

Picasso Museum
In the old part of Barcelona you can find the museum dedicated to Picasso. Here you can find the beautiful art of Picasso and also learn about his live. It is definitely worth a visit.

Banksy is known for his street art and this museum, located in El Born, has more than 130 works of Banksy. I really loved his art, if you have the time you should definitely check it out.

Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya
MNAC is definitely worth a visit, not only do they have a beautiful view over Barcelona (outside and inside) but they also have a beautiful art collection. Here you can find the most representative artists of Catalan modernism such as Gaudi or Casas. And much more!
tip: every Saturday from 3pm and the first Sunday of the month the tickets are for free.

Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Familia is also the work of famous architecture Antoni Gaudí. Sagrada familia is something you can’t skip while visiting Barcelona, even if you only appreciate the work from outside. However if you decide to enter the church, you should also check one of the two towers for a beautiful view of Barcelona.

Moco museum
