A day in Sitges

Sitges is a village close to Barcelona. When I was in Barcelona in 2021 I went for a day to Sitges with the train. Sitges isn’t that big, but definitely worth checking out. I think it is the perfect daytrip from Barcelona, just to relax enjoy the village and escape the city life in Barcelona.

how to get there

You can take the train from Barcelona to sitges, a single ticket is €4,60 and it takes about 40 minutes to get there. You can take the train at Barcelona Sants, it is the main station of Barcelona. Here you can find ticket machines you can either buy a single ticket or a two-way ticket.

Of course you can also visit Sitges by car, it takes about 45 minutes.

Wander around

The centre of Sitges is very cute and has a lot of beautiful small streets to get lost in. What I did pretty much the whole time when I was in Sitges was just wonder around and get to know the village. Unfortunately when I was in Sitges it was a really gloomy day. But still really enjoyed the village.

Church of St. Bartomeu

Next to the beach you can find this church, where you also have a beautiful view over the sea.

Relax at the beach

About a 10/15 minute walk from the train station you can find the beach. So bring your beach towel and enjoy a beach day in Sitges 🙂 (Hopefully the weather is better for the beach then it was when I visited! :))

See one of the museums

I did not get the chance to check out a museum in Sitges but there are quite a few museums to visit. The museums are: Maricel Museum, Cau Ferrat Museum, Palau Maricel, Fundació Stämpfli and the Romantic Museum. Here you can find more information about the museums and the prices.

Shop at the little boutiques

Sitges is full of little boutiques, just wander around the streets of the centre and you’ll find plenty of them. Find the perfect souvenir to bring home.

Enjoy the food

Sitges has a lot of cute restaurants, so sit back, enjoy the food and let it be the perfect ending of a day in Sitges.

Enjoy your trip to Sitges! 🙂
